What you'll learn

  • Read R documentation and write R scripts.
  • Import, export and manipulate data from external sources.
  • Work with data through data frames
  • Write basic programming functions including loops, if/else statements
  • Analyze data and produce statistical summaries
  • Produce graphics using standard functions and the more advanced ggplot2 library
  • Produce reports in R Markdown
  • Familiarity with statistical hypothesis testing and linear regression in R

About this Course

Course Description

The course introduces students to R, a widely used statistical programming language. Students will learn to manipulate data objects, produce graphics, analyze data using common statistical methods, and generate reproducible statistical reports.

Anyone looking for a role that requires working with large datasets/tables to make data-driven analysis would find this course extremely useful both in terms of recruitment as well as at work – in both corporate and academic settings.

There will be three lessons per week with one lesson reserved for office hours to help participants in their assignments.
